REACH information requirement: Epson Article Declaration
As a part of Epson s commitment to the environment we continuously work on improving the environmental performance of our products. In recent years the focus of our environmental program has, amongst others, been focused on the safe use of chemicals substances within our products. The continuous efforts of our engineers will ensure that all our products meet the requirements of the
European REACH (EC) No 1907/2006 Regulation.

The candidate list has been first published on 28 October 2008, and recently updated on 19
December 2011. You can find the updated version of the candidate list on the official website of the

The candidate list for authorization consists in the first step of the authorisation process established by
REACH Regulation. The substances to be included into this list are substances of very high concern,
as defined by the Directive 67/548/EEC on dangerous substances. This list is a living document: it is to be updated on a regular basis.
According to Article 33 of REACH Regulation, as soon as the candidate list is published or updated,
any supplier of an article containing a substance on the candidate list in a concentration above 0,1 %
weight by weight (w/w) shall provide direct customers with sufficient information on this substance to allow safe use of the article.
Epson conducted a chemical survey for all our products which could contain the substances included within the first candidate list. The survey has now been finalised.
