Samsung SUR40 with Microsoft® PixelSense!". Samsung Electronics offers the following guidance, based on more than 30 years of experience as the world s leading manufacturer of displays. The following guide will help you to prevent long term image retention, also known as burn-in , as well as develop better and more beautiful applications for the SUR40.
You should understand when a display based on LCD technology is operated for a long time,
with a fixed pattern, long term image retention may occur. This is a common phenomenon for all LCD displays, including the SUR40.
Long term image retention can be prevented when an LCD panel is operated under normal conditions. Normal conditions are defined as continuously changing video patterns.
If the SUR40 is operated for a long time with a fixed pattern (over 8 hours), there may be a slight difference in voltage between electrodes that work the liquid crystal in a pixel. The voltage difference between electrodes increases with time,
forcing the liquid crystal to lean .
