New PHU220R boosts continuous shooting for XDCAM users

AMSTERDAM (IBC Booth 12.A10), 9 September, 2011: Sony Professional Media increases the efficiency of XDCAM even further with the launch of the new PHU-220R. This latest Professional Hard Disk unit offers 220GB of full continuous recording to professional videographers using XDCAM EX* & the latest XDCAM camcorders.
Successor to the light and robust PHU-120R, the new PHU-220R enables end-users to format the disk in one partition of 220GB or three partitions of 73GB*. This allows videographers to capture up to 220GB of continuous footage without having to switch from one drive to another. Simply by selecting 220GB mode, it's now possible to shoot up to 950 minutes of HD content in SP mode or 730 minutes in HQ mode without interruption. Such high storage capacity makes PHU-220R perfect for long recordings such as inside sport events, conferences, weddings or long documentaries.

With almost twice the storage capacity of its predecessor, stable data transfer and excellent reliability, PHU-220R is the perfect partner for PMW-EX1R, PMW-F3 and PMW-320/350/500 camcorders. A highly effective solution for shooting continuous HD video at a very affordable cost per GB.
PHU-220R is now available in Europe and replaces PHU-120K which will be discontinued.
*Only 3-drive mode available with PMW-EX1, PMW-EX3 and PMW-EX30
