Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) Policy
& Declaration of Compliance
1. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that Logitech's products comply with the European Union's Persistent
Organic Pollutants (POPs) Regulation (EU) 2019/1021, which addresses the risks posed by hazardous substances to human health and the environment. Under EU law, the use of POPs is restricted, with stringent controls in place regarding their production, use, and placement on the market.
POPs are chemicals, such as certain pesticides and industrial chemicals, that persist in the environment and can travel long distances across international borders, far from their original sources. Due to their stability and resistance to degradation, POPs can accumulate in the food chain, posing significant risks to both human health and the natural environment. These substances can adversely affect wildlife,
contaminate ecosystems, and contribute to long-term health issues in humans, including cancer,
reproductive harm, and developmental defects.
By managing POPs in our products, Logitech ensures that we do not use POPs beyond the restricted thresholds outlined by the regulation, and we contribute to the continued protection of human health and the environment in line with regulatory requirements. Our objectives can be summarized as follows.
